Treatment for Children
Early treatment at Rise Orthodontics gives your child the best results. When kids are young, their jaws grow constantly to accommodate new teeth.
During this time, the teeth move easily with treatment, allowing for a shorter treatment time—especially in patients who undergo early treatment.
The American Association of Orthodontics and Dr. Ha recommend that you bring your child to their first orthodontic visit by age seven. At this age, the Rise Orthodontics team can start tracking your child’s jaw growth to screen for signs of early orthodontic issues.

Two-Phase Treatment
Not every child needs early intervention, but for those that do, two-phase treatment is the way to go. At Rise Orthodontics, Dr. Ha uses this approach to align your child’s teeth and produce a functional bite in two main steps.
Usually, two-step orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of seven and nine, when many primary teeth remain in a child’s mouth. Your child will wear braces or Invisalign for a year or two during a period we call active treatment. Dr. Ha will see them again for another round of active treatment when they're a teenager.
Treatment for Teens
For teens around the Modesto area, the most common time for orthodontic treatment at Rise Orthodontics is during adolescence, between the ages of 11-16.
Experienced orthodontists like Dr. Ha easily recognize spacing, crowding, bite, and alignment issues in this age range.
Also, your teen’s bone and jaw structure are developed enough to begin orthodontic treatment at our Modesto office.
